Head Teacher and

Kindergarten Teacher  -

Dru Lutkehus

Greetings from Dru Lutkehus, Head teacher and Kindergarten teacher at St. Paul’s.  I have a Bachelors Degree and Lutheran Teacher’s Diploma from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.  Prior to coming to St. Paul’s I taught first and second grade at Bethlehem Lutheran School and Kindergarten at St. John’s Lutheran School in the Cleveland, Ohio area.  After moving back to Nebraska, I was a full time mom until our sons were in middle school.  I was then employed by Creek Valley Schools in Chappell as a paraprofessional, half time teacher, and personal tutor. This is the 16th year that I have been privileged to serve at St. Paul’s.
My husband is Edward Lutkehus and we live on a wheat farm near Chappell, Nebraska.  We also have a custom combining business.  We were blessed with two sons and their wives and three grandsons.
I enjoy gardening, reading, and sewing of all kinds as well as making banners for church and other occasions.  I am a Sunday School teacher for our middle aged youth and am active in other church affairs.  I belong to the Tri-County Choir that performs two cantatas each year.  I am also a volunteer EMT with the Chappell Ambulance Service.
It is an honor serve my Lord at St. Paul’s.  Watching the children grow in their faith as well as academically is what keeps me in the classroom.

3 & 4 year old Preschool -

Terri Commins

I am Terri Commins and I am very excited for St. Paul's 2013/2014 school year and looking forward to getting to know all of our preschool children and families.

This will be my ninth year here at St. Paul's. My husband Brian serves as Vice Chairman for the church board and three of our six children were able to attend St. Paul's school after moving here 10 years ago.

Our youngest, Jaedy is in 6th grade at OMS, Jayme is in 9th grade and Kylee is in 12th grade at OHS.  Chelsey is a senior at Hastings, and our oldest Brittney will be attending nursing (RN) school.  Our only son Rylan graduated last year from UNK, working and is a Marine Reservist planning to enlist full time soon.

I have been truly blessed; being raised and growing in the word, strengthened through the gift of faith, surrounded by faithful family, friends, staff, and congregation, and so thankful for his grace and mercy to serve and share his love.

1st and 2nd Grade Teacher -

Grace Brott

Hi, I am Grace Brott.  I completed my Bachelors from Chadron State in secondary education via correspondence while I was the nanny to a family w/4 little girls in New Jersey.  Upon my return to Nebraska, I was the teacher in a country school up by Merritt Reservoir, and decided my real calling was elementary so I went back and got my Elementary Endorsement from UNK.
My husband, Bill and I live on the farm where his mother grew up.  We have 3 wonderful children!  The older 2 both attended St. Paul's.  Tristan will be a senior at UNL, Cora will be a freshman at UNL and Sarah will be a fifth grader at Paxton.
I have done extensive substituting, including some long-term.  I taught the older Preschool class here for 3 years, and loved preparing such eager learners for Kindergarten.  I worked at Paxton for 5 years--teaching Language to Kindergarteners, English to a student, as well as working as a para. to an assortment of children w/a wide range of needs.  I'm excited to be back @ St. Paul's and being able to share Jesus openly w/students. This willb e my 2nd year teaching grades 1-2 here at St. Paul's Lutheran.
I enjoy reading-when I can find the time, and following my children's activities.  I have taught Sunday School for many years, and am currently the Sunday School  Supt at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Hello! My name is Sue Peck and I am an Ogallala, Nebraska native.  I feel truly blessed to be a part of children’s education.  As a 29-year educator, I believe one has the overwhelming responsibility to create lifelong learners. So, I am excited to return and serve the community in which I was raised.

I have been a special educator at both the high school and elementary school level in Colorado and Wyoming.  I earned my Master of Arts Degree in Special Education from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and my Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Chadron State College.

I am happily married to my husband of 38 years, Randy, with whom I have two children, Cody and Shawna.  Our favorite pastime is spending time with them, their spouses, and our five wonderful grandchildren.
