St. Paul’s Week School News -

Field Trip a Big Success!

Despite the rain, our elementary students were able to take in some of the local sites including a Kingsley Dam tour and a hike up Windlass Hill near Ash Hollow. Students were able to see the Interpretive Center showing how the dam was built and also the benefits we now enjoy through irrigation, wildlife, and recreation.  We took a power point ride to see where the water comes from that fills the lake and were able to walk out to see the Morning Glory where water is passed through to Lake Ogallala and points east.  An incredible view! After a brief stop at The Most Unlikely Place in Lewellen for snacks and a little lesson in the history of the area it was on to Ash Hollow. There we saw a one room school house, the springs that attracted so many of the pioneers, a cave where some found refuge, a sod house, and finally Windlass Hill. Wagon ruts are still visible from the many pioneers who traveled the Oregon Trail.  What a great day! As one 3rd grader put it, This is so exciting because we are walking where history took place.

We couldn't have said it better ourselves! Thanks to all parents who were able to come along and drive and thanks to our PTL for the donation of snacks, brownies, and water.

Kids Sing May 2nd!

All students from Preschool through 5th grade are invited and encouraged to come and sing together on Sunday, May 2nd at the 10:45 am worship service.  Gathering together as a school and participating in worship is a great way to thank all the members of St. Pauls Lutheran Church for their continued prayers and financial support of our school. Please mark this date on your calendars to come and join us! Be sure to have students wear their St. Pauls t-shirts! See you there!

Vacation Bible School

We are asking for volunteers to help guide children from center to center, help with crafts, help in the kitchen, help with games and activities, and help with preschoolers. We will host a volunteer meeting on Wednesday, May 12th at 6:30.  Look for information coming home soon!
